Park Ranger Consoles Sad Gorilla Whose Mom Got Killed By Poachers

The photo featured below has managed to touch the hearts of everyone who has seen it. The picture shows a park ranger called Patrick Karabaranga consoling a gorilla whose mom just lost her life to poachers.

As you can see in the picture, the ranger looks as devastated as the gorilla. These brave souls put themselves at risk every single day in order to protect and conserve these beautiful animals. So when the poor creatures get killed so inhumanely for the stupidest reasons, they can’t help but grieve too.

This mountain gorilla is one of three orphans living in Virunga National Park in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. They were brought in after their parents were killed, either by poachers or as a result of illegal trafficking attempts to smuggle them out of the park. Virunga National Park has over 200 mountain gorillas, and it accounts for about a quarter of the world’s mountain gorilla population.
