Maintaining a healthy weight is a mental challenge as well as a physical one. Jesse, a Chinese photographer in his thirties, has vowed to lose weight alongside his family for support. They were able to help each other through the shift in just six months, and the results are remarkable.
It all began when Jesse’s mum decided to move in with her son and his expectant wife for a while to help out with the newborn’s early care. Jesse took this chance to spend time with his father, who managed a bamboo mill.
When the soon-to-be grandfather moved in with him, he also brought his alcoholism and beer belly. Jesse hoped that a weight loss program would help the aging man rediscover his zest for life.
They began with a brisk walk, which soon developed into a jog.They started going to the gym to get in more exercise. Further, they monitored the outcomes by assessing their progress every 10 days.
It didn’t take long for them to start seeing results, and before long they were dropping pounds and tightening up their bodies. Each time a week went by, Jesse noted the differences.
A exercise routine that was supposed to endure from March 10th to September 30th has apparently become a family tradition, and the members insist they will continue the program indefinitely. Jesse thinks the most satisfying outcome was witnessing his father’s growth in self-assurance.
