Back in 2009, Hollie Steel auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent, Kid version. She looked confident during her pre-interviews. She walked on the stage, wearing a purple top with a pink fluffy tutu skirt donning the apparel with a matching fuzzy hairband. At the time, Hollie was ten years old. So young and immensely talented. After sharing few pleasantries, Hollie began her ballet routine to “I Could Have Danced All Night” from the musical My Fair Lady.
A few seconds into the performance, the judges don’t seem so impressed. And Simon Cowell even reaches to hit the RED buzzer. At just that second, Hollie’s begins singing with an outstandingly powerful voice. Every single judge is taken back by her melodious voice and the glorious pitch. In the end, she receives and a standing ovation from the audience and the judges.
The video has garnered over 12 million views by now and is recognized as one of the big surprises from the early years of AGT.
