Judges Roll Their Eyes, but Regret It When His Song Moves the Audience to Tears

The Got Talent shows are known for finding hidden talent and bringing it to the surface, especially when that talent is hidden beneath, shall we say, an “unsuspecting façade.” Well here’s an audition that definitely reinforces the “unsuspecting” part and shows the judges why it’s a mistake to assume an unkempt appearance means anything at all.

19-year-old university student Leon Lee walks on the Australia’s Got Talent stage in a T-shirt, hoodie and high-top Adidas trainers looking like, well, the sloppy college student that he is. The judges make it clear they aren’t too impressed and even–in an offhanded way–already begin to write him off when he tells them the only place he’s ever sung is his own bedroom.

And when he says he’s going to sing Luther Vandross’s “Dance With My Father” they are clearly thinking it’s not going to turn out well. But then Leon starts singing and shock ripples across the judges table all the way through the auditorium. He’s unbelievable!

By the end of the performance the entire audience is enraptured and many are in tears. This is truly one of the most moving performances ever on the Got Talent stage, definitely amazing. Watch the full video below and please leave us a Facebook comment to let us know what you thought!
