Dogs are some of the most faithful creatures on the planet. They don’t leave your side even in the most troubling of times. Dogs love to befriend everyone they come across and are known to try and help anyone in need. Just take for example, the following story. 36 year old Shannon Lorio was driving down a rural road in Pavo, Georgia, when her truck got into a deadly accident. She lost control of the vehicle and flew out the back window of the vehicle.
The woman was in a state of shock, motionless on the ground. “I was bleeding from my face and my nose,” she said. Since she was in a quiet area, the chances of other motorists spotting her were slim. But then a miracle happened. A stray dog suddenly appeared out of nowhere and started licking her face. The dog tugged and pulled at her shirt, dragging her over 100 feet back to the street. He looked over her until a passing vehicle arrived and she was able to call her husband for help.
Shannon suffered a brain haemorrhage, but didn’t need any surgery. She believes that the stray dog saved her life. The dog, who was abandoned by his previous owners, was later adopted by a canine search and rescue trainer. Lorio has nicknamed him Hero. Lorio couldn’t adopt the dog since she already had six dogs of her own, but she gifted him a big bone and a toy.
