This Parody Song by Five Docs Might Change Your Mind About Anesthesia

People involved in the medical field are very busy. Because of their packed schedule, they don’t always get the time to indulge in their favorite pastime.

But this enthusiastic group of anesthetists featured in the video below still somehow manages to combine their hobby and their profession together from time to time. They love singing and they decided to make a band to pursue their passion.

“The Laryngospasms” is a musical parody group consisting of an anesthesiologist and four certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs).

While singing Neil Sedaka’s classic hit “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do” at Minneapolis School of Anesthesia student Christmas party in 1990, they realized that they could make a parody based off of it called “Waking Up Is Hard To Do”. That is how their first hit came to be!
