There are countless times I have run for miles at the sight of a tiny spider. These creepy crawlies give me the chills. But right now, I love spiders! This spider shown in the video is one of the most beautiful creatures on earth! I’m not exaggerating…see for yourself!

It is the Maratus speciosus also known as the coastal peacock spider and can be found along beaches near Perth in Western Australia. These tiny arachnids are renowned for their vibrant and intricate displays during courtship. Males have a body length of around 4-5 millimeters and feature a remarkable array of colors, including iridescent blues, reds, and oranges, complemented by bold patterns on their abdomen. The coastal peacock spider’s appearance is reminiscent of a miniature peacock, hence its name.

The mating ritual of the coastal peacock spider is a spectacular sight to behold. Male spiders perform elaborate dances and displays to attract the attention of females. These dances involve rhythmic leg movements and vibrant abdominal flaps that they raise and vibrate, creating a striking visual spectacle.
