Twin Babies Caught Fighting in Their Mother’s Womb on MRI Scan

Pregnancy is huge news to not only the couple but also their family and friends. It brings lots of happiness and joy in their lives. And as they say, twins are double the fun! Everything increases twofold in the case of twins! According to the Public Library of Science One, twin fetuses learn their social skills in the womb itself. They tend to be wired to socially interact with others soon after they are born.

And research has suggested that babies in the womb can respond to their mother’s emotional states and may be able to sense what their mother is feeling. This is because emotions such as stress, anxiety, and happiness can produce chemical changes in the mother’s body, which can be transmitted to the baby through the placenta.

Which might explain how, in the video below, we can see two twins fighting–or maybe playing–inside the womb. They are clearly wrestling and even seem to be apologizing to each other! One of them is more careful, while the other is more dominant.

One theory is that twins may be able to sense each other’s movements and position in the womb, and may respond to each other by moving or kicking in response. Another theory suggested that twins may be able to perceive each other’s heartbeats and other bodily rhythms, which could also contribute to a sense of connection and social interaction.
