Groom Grants Dying Mother’s Wish for a Mother-Son Dance – It’s Heartbreaking

While weddings often involve tears, you probably won’t see many like this one. It’s both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

In this video, the groom Scooter wants to have the traditional dance with his mother, Terri, at the reception. Unfortunately, Terri has been fighting against ALS for some time and believes her dancing days are behind her. ALS is a progressive neurological disorder that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, ultimately leading to muscle weakness and paralysis. It is a fatal disease, with an average life expectancy of three to five years from diagnosis

But Scooter is undeterred. They wheel Terri to the center of the dance floor and what follows is possibly one of the most poignant wedding dances on the internet. Scooter supports his mother, moving her gently around the floor while silently weeping on her shoulder. There’s not a dry eye in the house as family and friends realize they’ve witnessed something truly beautiful: a son granting his dying mother’s last wish.

This is almost too heartbreaking for words. Watch the full video below and please leave us a Facebook comment to let us know what you thought!
