27 Yr Ago, Michael Flatley’s Last Riverdance Performance Left Millions in Tears

Riverdance has been famous all over the world for its traditional Irish music and dance ever since it first debuted as a live stage show in Dublin in 1994. It has been to 450 venues worldwide and has been viewed by millions of people everywhere. It managed to become one of the most celebrated dance productions in the world, mainly because of the amazing Michael Flatley and his choreography.

Michael served as its first choreographer, where he took the traditional folk art of Irish dancing, and added a modern and innovative twist. The result was a breathtaking display of energy, precision and grace the likes of which had never been seen before.

Riverdance became really successful, but because of financial problems and creative differences, the producers and Flatley went their separate ways in 1995.

The video below features the “The Final Performance” of Riverdance, after which Flatley was replaced by nine-time World Irish Dancing Champion Colin Dunne. This is definitely one of the most breath-taking performances of all time! Watch the amazing performance below and please leave us a Facebook comment to let us know what you thought!
