Dance is a form of art. It has been around for ages now. There are several forms of dancing. And these forms have evolved over time. Kids nowadays are fans of styles like breakdancing, ballet, and tap. Most of them even take classes in order to learn them. However, there is one particular style that is not as popular, and that is Irish dancing. But thankfully, it has not been forgotten. Many youngsters still enjoy it. Take for example, the group featured below.
These dancers from the Maguire Academy of Irish Dance dropped jaws with their Riverdance performance at the Irish Festival which was held in North Texas in 2014. Riverdancing is a modern take on traditional Irish dancing, however, both come from the same rich history. Irish step dancing used to be considered as an integral part of society in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Despite little documentation, it was something most Irishmen and women did to celebrate certain events.
Irish dancing is not as famous or widespread nowadays, but there are still people out there who want to help keep it alive. And this group is one of them. They step dance their away across the stage as the crowd looks on in appreciation. Wait till you see this! Check out this amazing performance below! Did you enjoy it as much as we did?
