THE NEXT TWEEN AND TEEN STARLETS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Demi Lovato, Keke Palmer, and Sara Paxton Plus: DiNGs

You probably already know to be on the lookout for rising stars like Selena Gomez and Aly and AJ, but here are a few more on the rise...

Demi Lovato: By now you've probably heard about the Disney Channel's latest smash hit, Camp Rock. The 2nd highest rated Disney telepic ever (just behind last year's High School Musical 2), the Jonas Brothers vehicle premiered this weekend to almost 9 million viewers. The movie also marked the breakout of tween star-to-watch Demi Lovato, who is expected to become the next Miley Cyrus. While Disney is planning to go into production on a Camp Rock sequel in spring or summer 2009, Lovato fans will likely get a chance to see their new idol even sooner, as she will also be starring in upcoming live-action Disney comedy series Welcome to Mollywood. Scheduled to start filming this September, the show features Lovato as a small-town teen who, after a nationwide search, is selected to join the cast of a hit teen sketch comedy TV show. In addition to the fish-out-of-water theme, the series will also boast a show-within-a-show of comedy sketches.
Keke Palmer: Best known for her star turn in Akeelah and the Bee, in which she gave a critically-acclaimed performance, Palmer is now Nickelodeon's next big thing. The NAACP Image Award winner will be playing the lead role in an upcoming series called True Fashion. Being described in the trades as "Big meets The Devil Wears Prada", the series stars Palmer as a teen hired to head the teen division of a popular fashion label. Palmer will also be seen on the big screen this summer alongside Ice Cube in The Longshots.
Sara Paxton: Already a tween screen queen with roles in Discovery Kids TV series Darcy's Wild Life (for which she received an Emmy nomination) and Aquamarine (in which she played a mermaid) under her belt, Sara Paxton is transitioning into more mature roles; she'll next be seen playing a lead role in the remake of the classic 1972 Wes Craven horror film The Last House on the Left.

And by the way: Will DiNGs be the new band t-shirt? The custom-fitted decals, available for tech devices ranging from cellphones and MP3 players to laptops and gaming devices, are printed with graphics for artists such as Nine Inch Nails, Taking Back Sunday, and Linkin Park.
