A reference tool and influencer tracking on social networking sites
Hyperwords: Some believe that this Firefox plug-in could change the way people browse, discover and aggregate information. Currently when one reads text online only certain words are hyperlinked for more information. But with the Hyperwords plug-in, every word becomes a hotlink, thus creating an even more immersive web experience. Users can highlight a word and choose from options to search, seek references, translate, shop, even map.
Social Networking Ranking: Google reportedly has a patent pending on a technology that will be able to rank the most influential people on social networking sites. Data tracked would include how frequently people post things on others' profiles and how successful someone is at getting friends to read or watch something. Needless to say, if this happens, it could change the way marketers leverage social networking sites.
