MUSIC ARTISTS TO WATCH
Laura Izibor, Kardinal Offishall, and King Khan
|
Laura Izibor:
Named an Artist to Watch in 2008 by Rolling Stone, this soulful Irish R&B singer is expected to be the next Duffy/Leona Lewis/Alicia Keys. Her debut album, Let the Truth Be Told, isn't slated for release until later in 2008, yet she has already had song placement in TV shows such as The Hills and Grey's Anatomy.

Kardinal Offishall:
This Canadian artist, dubbed the "Canadian ambassador of hip-hop", has impressed fans with his strong voice and talent, likened by many to heavyweights Ludacris and Busta Rhymes. His song "Dangerous", featuring Akon, has held solid ground this summer in the top ten of Billboard's Hot 100.

King Khan:
Signed this year by VICE Records, Atlanta's King Khan (real name Mark Sultan) is quickly rising to fame as the next big partystarter. A new hipster favorite, Khan's oldies-inspired rock has been making blog headlines and subsequently getting him booked in bigger venues. King Khan plays with various collaborators but seems to most frequently perform under the band name King Khan and the Shrines.
